After following my heart and doing a degree in archaeology I discovered my love for all things made of clay. My ceramics are inspired by the artefacts and landscapes that I encounter in my research and travel associated with all things archaeological. My designs start with an understanding of the archaeology then I progress to making a pot or a piece of ceramic to reflect this journey. I like to try different techniques and sometimes add a splash of colour to make pieces that sit nicely in a contemporary home. Each piece of Cryccen pottery comes with a  background story of interest which I hope will enrich its ownership.Â
Cryccen, pronounced ‘k-r-oo-ken’ is Old English for ‘made of clay’.Â
