This small pot has been hand built using coils of terracotta clay. Using the ancient technique of burnishing using a smooth pebble the clay has been given a beautiful sheen before bisque firing. A 'cup-and ring' motif is carved on top and highlighted in verdigris glaze.
Once out of the kiln a buff with a coating of beeswax has been given to the exterior to enhance its soft and tactile qualities.
It fits perfectly in your hands and is a beautiful decorative piece of pottery for your home.
*Please not that this earthenware pot is not suitable for holding water.
