This small bowl has been hand built using coils of terracotta clay to proportions reminiscent of prehistoric bowls. Using the ancient technique of burnishing using a smooth pebble the clay was given a beautiful sheen before bisque firing. Then with a splash of ‘Turquoise’ glaze added to the interior it was fired to earthenware.
Once out of the kiln a buff with a coating of beeswax was given to the exterior to enhance its soft and tactile qualities.
It fits perfectly in your hands and is a beautiful decorative piece of pottery for your home.
