This medium sized bowl has been hand built using coils of white clay to proportions reminiscent of prehistoric bowls, with the details of lug handles and abstract reflections of mark making. Using the ancient technique of burnishing using a smooth pebble the clay has been given a beautiful sheen before bisque firing then given a finishing smoke firing to create beautiful soft surface patterns.
Once out of the fire a buff with a coating of beeswax has been applied to enhance its soft and tactile qualities
.
This bowl is a beautiful decorative piece of pottery for your home or a gift for an archaeology and history lover .
* please note: due to the low firing temperatures used this bowl is not suitable for liquids.
