This small bowl has been hand built using coils of terracotta clay to proportions reminiscent of small prehistoric bowls with the detail of lug handles. Using the ancient technique of burnishing using a smooth pebble the clay was given a beautiful sheen before bisque firing then given a finishing smoke firing to create beautiful soft surface patterns.
Once out of the fire a buff with a coating of beeswax was given to this hand sized pot to enhance its soft and tactile qualities.
It fits perfectly in your hands and is a beautiful decorative piece of pottery for your home.
